Well I finally was able to work on my quilt. So here’s a peek at what I have accomplished.
Here’s another view with the grandkids holding it up for me so that I could get the picture taken.
All I need is to sew the binding down, and then the project will be completed.
Last year my granddaughter wanted to learn to sew.
She decided on a quilt, so I made it simple enough for her to try her hand at it.
It was made up of squares.
Many weeks later, she finally finished the quilt top. She did get frustrated at times, but did not give up. We were so proud of her.
Hope this will inspire some of you to give quilting a try.♥♥♥

Wow! How old was your granddaughter when you taught her to quilt? That is so impressive! You’ve made so much progress on that quilt already! It’s gorgeous!

Thank you, Sandra. My granddaughter was 10, she will turn 11 next week. She did all the sewing of the quilt top and then I did the rest.

That is such an accomplishment. I took me 8 weeks to make a patchwork belt at school so I take my hat off to you. They look great too (the belt I made was not so hot!).

Thank you. Maybe you can show us your belt one day. I’ve never seen a patchwork belt, but sounds fun to make, I’ve thought of making a patchwork scarf, or shawl, maybe I’ll have time one day

I’m not so proud of it! If I make something nicer I will show it. It was crazy patchwork where you iron the bits of material onto a sticky backed material then use a sewing machine to zig zag over the joins. Patchwork shawl would be amazing! I may try again with the belt!!
